Billing
Plans, what's metered, the Argus add-on, and a calculator for your monthly bill.
Billing is per organisation, managed under Settings > Billing. Every organisation starts on the free plan; upgrading to Pro unlocks unlimited seats, higher allowances, Analytics, Teams and the Argus add-on. Prices are in pounds sterling.

An account can own one free organisation. To create a second organisation, upgrade the first to Pro.
What's metered
Seats. Every member of the organisation. Pending invitations aren't billed, but on the free plan they count towards the two-seat allowance while they're outstanding. Removing a member frees the seat straight away.
Interrupts. One unit for every interrupt an agent opens - counted when the interrupt is created, so rejected or malformed requests never cost anything. Messages inside an interrupt, decisions, escalations and manager review are not metered. The Billing tab calls this meter Interrupts.
Agent hours monitored. The wall-clock length of each Live View session, from start to end, recorded once when the session ends. A session closed by the session timeout is treated as ending at its last activity, so idle time after an agent goes silent isn't counted. Time spent by humans watching makes no difference.
Allowances reset monthly. When one runs out:
- On the free plan, the relevant action is rejected until the reset - new interrupts, new sessions or new invitations - and the inbox or Live View shows a banner saying so. Nothing already in Vigilator is affected: open interrupts can still be decided and running sessions still stream.
- On Pro, interrupts beyond the included 500 are simply billed at £0.01 each. Monitoring hours beyond 10,000 are a hard limit rather than a billed overage; if you expect to need more, get in touch.
Estimate your bill
Excludes VAT. Pro is billed monthly in arrears at actual usage; this is an estimate, not a quote.
The calculator uses the prices above. Seats are charged for every member at the end of each monthly period; interrupt overage is charged per interrupt beyond the included 500; Argus is charged at what the model provider billed plus 30%.
Upgrading and the trial
From the Billing tab, Upgrade takes you to a checkout to add a payment method, and the organisation switches to Pro immediately on return. Alternatively, organisations that haven't trialled Pro before are offered Start free trial - 14 days of full Pro, card required, with the card charged only when the trial ends. A trialling organisation has every Pro feature, but still counts as a free organisation for the one-free-organisation rule.
Manage subscription opens the billing portal, where you can change the payment method, download invoices, and cancel. A cancelled subscription stays on Pro until the end of the period already paid for, then returns to the free plan.
When an organisation drops back to free, nothing is deleted. Members beyond two seats, interrupts beyond the allowance, teams and analytics data all stay - you just can't add more until you upgrade again: new invitations are rejected, and the free allowances apply to new interrupts and sessions.
The Argus add-on
Argus - auto-classification, summaries and suggested responses - is a separate add-on for Pro organisations, with no flat fee: you pay the model provider's raw cost for the tokens Argus uses, plus a 30% margin, in arrears each month. The Billing tab's Argus add-on card shows the usage so far this cycle; enable it there or from Settings > Argus, and remove it from the Billing tab (removal takes effect immediately).
The Argus tab shows the per-million-token price of each available model, already including the margin, so you can pick a model that fits your budget. Argus keeps its own costs bounded by only reading the last 50 messages of an interrupt.
The Billing tab
What you'll find under Settings > Billing:
- Usage tiles - Seats Used, Interrupts and Monitoring Hours for the current period, against the plan's allowance. They turn amber at 80% and red at 100%.
- Current Plan - the plan, its renewal date and terms, with Upgrade / Start free trial / Manage subscription as appropriate.
- Next charge - an estimate of the coming invoice at current usage (Pro only). It excludes VAT and is an estimate, not a quote.
- Argus add-on - status, this cycle's usage, and enable/remove.
- Billing email - where invoices and billing notifications are sent. Defaults to the owner's email address.
- Invoices - every past invoice with its date, amount, status and a link to view it.
Permissions
Every member can see the Billing tab - the plan, usage and invoices. Changing anything - upgrading, starting a trial, opening the portal, enabling or removing Argus, changing the billing email - needs the billing.update permission, and the Next charge estimate needs billing.view. By default only owners hold these; the buttons are simply hidden from everyone else. Grant them to a custom role under access control if, say, a finance team should manage the subscription without being owners.
